What are your thoughts on this subdivision? Would you like Dalron to allocate the 5% parkland designation to the southern most area keeping the walking trail and a greenspacing buffer for some of the ecology?

How do you feel about the way subdivisions are designed and what are your thoughts on building subdivisions over existing community greenspaces that serve the community?

Do think that Greater Sudbury Planning should mandate a better community design with more allocation for walkable natural areas and accessible greenspacing to serve the interests of community health and well-being?

We submitted the following to the Over To You Survey.

Transportation
When attending the meeting at the Cedar Park Field House on May 4th I was surprised to hear that the 3 options offered all connected directly to Maley. I understood that one of the options was supposed to not connect to Maley. Also, what happened to the 2016 Village of Montrose Master Plan that I understood was approved? It would not be safe to have a street extending from the West end of Forestdale Drive as it is an extremely steep slope. Lastly, there should not be another street cutting across the New Sudbury Historical Trail.

Other
Please preserve the greenspace at the South end of the property which backs onto the homes on the Courts North of Forestdale Drive. This forested area is used extensively by area residents who have developed a network of trails for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, and walking dogs. I understand that City Council agreed to reduce the carbon footprint in Sudbury. Therefore, why cut down a healthy forest? This greenspace makes it a better place to live. Please preserve the environment.

Comments/Questions
Please make a commitment to preserve this greenspace.

Definitely. There’s a need in this time and age to consider the way land is developed. If City Council and the planning service division can mandate features that will enhance the livability, health, and social wellbeing of the new communities, that would be great.
