What happened to the 2014 Dalron Conceptual MasterPlan

In the summer of 2014  Dalron had a public meeting at Cedar Park, in which the following Conceptual Plan was presented. It was not ideal, but it had a better and more appropriate ecological buffer and trails. And it had the major Montrose meander. It was looked upon favorably by the community.

But it was switched out for a completely different plan that totally deletes all the greenspace ecology and buffer. This is nowhere near the current Sept 2021, re-draft that is in front of Council now.

What happened to this plan? Why is today’s plan so different? Why is all the trails and greenspace deleted?

Not only did this plan incorporate linear trails, it incorporated a meandering of Montrose. These are proven effective at deterring shortcutting traffic between Maley & LaSalle.
Not only were the residents formally introduced to this plan, Mayor Bigger endorsed it at the ribbon cutting ceremony, AND, local residents were invited at the July 14, 2014 presentation meeting on Official City of Sudbury letterhead.
After such fanfare and official announcements, you can imagine how disillusioned the residents are to find out the Village of Montrose plan was never even applied for at the City!
